I will show how to configure Linux's most popular modular IDE to work well with Python. I will show how to setup code completion, call tips, debugging, code snippets, and refactoring. John Anderson ( sontek ) began using GNU/Linux in critical production environments in 2003. He is currently Senior Software Engineer and Architect at Orchid Event Solutions where he maintains many desktop applications (Linux, Mac, and Windows) written in C#/Mono and Python. The applications he maintains receive more than 500,000 front-end transactions daily. John also contributes to many open source applications including Banshee, Tomboy, Mono, Prebuild and is the maintainer of the Trac Peer Review Plugin, Twitter irssi plugin, Web Jungle, and SHTorrent. With a deep understanding of POSIX systems, the Linux kernel, GNU tools and Windows development environments John has been able to provide professional level services to many businesses in cross-platform development with both C#/Mono and Python. As a programmer John has worked with Perl, Python, PHP, C#, C, and C++ to create countless business critical applications. John currently resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.
